GETTING ON THE SAME PAGE WITH GOD

In any healthy relationship, being “on the same page” is key. Whether it’s between spouses, friends, or colleagues, unity makes communication flow and decisions clear. The same principle applies to our relationship with God. Yet often, we expect God to get on our page—blessing our plans, approving our timelines, and aligning with our desires. But true peace and progress come when we get on His page.

God’s Page is Perfect

The prophet Isaiah reminds us: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. (Isaiah 55:8). God sees the bigger picture—the past, the present, and the future all at once. His page is not just different; it’s perfect. When we trust His wisdom over our limited understanding, we begin to step into alignment with His greater plan.

The Struggle of Control

Let’s be honest—getting on God’s page isn’t always easy. We like control. We like predictability. We like to feel certain. But faith requires surrender. It asks us to lay down our script and pick up His. Sometimes, His page looks like waiting when we want to run. Sometimes it looks like forgiveness when we’d rather hold a grudge. Sometimes it looks like obedience when we don’t fully understand.

Practical Ways to Align with God

  • Pray for guidance, not just outcomes. Instead of asking God to bless what you’ve written, ask Him to write the story.

  • Soak in His Word. Scripture is the “page” God has already given us. The more we read, the clearer His voice becomes.

  • Practice daily surrender. Each morning, invite God to direct your steps instead of simply following your own plan.

  • Listen in silence. Sometimes alignment happens not in speaking, but in stillness where God can shift our hearts.

The Blessing of Alignment

When we finally get on God’s page, something changes inside us. We no longer chase peace—we carry it. We stop striving and start trusting. Life may not always look the way we pictured, but it will always unfold with divine purpose.

Getting on the same page with God doesn’t mean life will be free of struggle. But it does mean that we’ll be anchored, guided, and secure—walking hand in hand with the One who writes the best story of all.
